Uganda to Hold Marathon in Lake Mburo National Park

Explore Africa Safaris, a Tour and Travel Company based mostly in the pearl of Africa—Uganda with operations in the land of Masai Mara-Kenya, the land of Serengeti–Tanzania, the land of a thousand hills—Rwanda and Burundi in partnership with the Uganda tourism Board (UTB) and Uganda wildlife Authority are organizing a marathon in Lake Mburo National park as the way of promoting domestic Tourism. The marathon which is the first of its kind will be held on July 19th 2015 in Lake Mburo national park with an aim of raising funds to conserve the environment but also as a way of giving back to communities living around the national park.

Uganda police forces and game rangers will be standing beside the road to make sure that Participants are assured of security and nothing happens to runners. Besides, Lake Mburo national park has less fierce animals like lions and leopards. It is necessary to move towards promoting Uganda’s national parks which at the moment are not well conserved. On top of the marathon, there will be exciting game drives, nature walks, lake cruises on Lake Mburo, great foods and people from all around the world. Participants will also have an option of heading to queen Elizabeth National park for another experience of game drive, lake cruises on Kazinga channel and checking out the tree climbing lions found nowhere else in the world except in Uganda -Queen Elizabeth and Lake Manyara national park in Tanzania.
