It is a wonderful way to take your children to see exotic places and lands, while at the same time exposing them to different cultures and experiences that they would find no where else in the world. It is a really incredible experience to be in a completely different place and in a completely different environment. There are many things that your children will learn going to a different place and different culture.

Uganda is filled with amazing sites, incredible animals, and beautiful lands. It is the experience of a life time and your children will remember the trip for a lifetime. There is nothing better than having the vacation of a lifetime and giving your children the experience of a lifetime as well.

There are several destinations to visit on a family safari in Uganda. There are ten national parks, several wildlife reserves and forest reserves. The national parks are rewarding and are well developed for tourism. Within savanna national parks, you can enjoy game viewing in open safari vehicles, take nature walks within the developed foot trails and enjoy boat cruises along rivers and lakes.

The most popular national parks are Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Semuliki National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. These savanna parks protect a wide range of flora and fauna incuding game viewing. Other game reserves that you can visit during your trip include Semliki, Katonga, Bugungu, Pian Upe, Kabwoya and Kyambura wildlife reserves.

For those interested in primates viewing, there are several forest parks including Kibale Forest National Park, the best place to track chimpanzees and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the best place to track the endangered mountain gorillas.

Other places of interest include the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, one of the few exsitu conservation areas in Africa, the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe, a great place for young children and several amenities in Kampala.

Please note that unlike savanna game parks, there are some activities where young children are restricted. For gorilla tracking and chimpanzee tracking, children below the age of 15 years are not allowed to visit these primates. Therefore when organising and booking your trip, you need to tell the tour operator or travel agency you are using about the age of the children in your party.
